Thank you Alister for the LUT’s. Yesterday I ordered my FS7K.
I buy you a drink.
I have had difficulties in getting the FS7 to import LUTs and LOOKs. I have placed them in private/Sony/PRO/CAMERA/PXW-FS7 as well as in root directory, but niether works. Have you experienced anything similar?
I made the 3D files in both RAW viewer and Resolve. (I also tried Catalyst Browse & Prepare, but they don’t export properly, probably because they are so early versions yet)
They need to go in a folder structure the same as the F5-F55, like this:
PRIVATE – SONY – PRO – CAMERA – PMWF55_F5
for some reason I cannot upload your luts to my fs7.
The base setting is right. Cine Ei/Sgamut3cine
The cards structure should be like you have said:PRIVATE – SONY – PRO – CAMERA – PMWF55_F5, (I made the last folder myself, so there are two now inside camera folder)
In menu I go to File/Monitor3DLUT/load sd card/1 (eneter, and here I can see the files) / I choose forexample 7.._Slog3-Film1-zero.cl (then the date), I push the enter.
Then comes load File? I choose execute and I get the result File Acces NG…
Do you have any idea what is missing,
Don’t know why they are not working for you. I tested them again on another FS7 yesterday and they loaded OK. The only thing that it might be is that you might be trying to load some trash files created by your computers operating system rather than the LUT’s themselves. There should not be any . or _ at the beginning of the LUT’s name, that would be a junk file. Check further down the list of LUT’s for the true LUT files.
Ok, and thank you.
I tried to import the luts via pc but I did not have succes either, perviously I did it with mac.
The luts look very good in fcpx and I can use them there… but ofcourse it would be nice to have them in the viewfinder aswell.
For sure I have some settings or whatever wrong… and one day the solution comes, via firmware update or by learning my mistake.
The names of the luts are like this in my memorycard: Slog3-Film1-zero.cube
I hope you will in a nice place when you have your Latte-coffee.
I can’t get these to load into my F5 (now updated to V5). Will they only load into the FS7 only?
They normally work with both cameras.
I returned back to this matter and finally found the real LUTs from the sd card in camera. (the card was done in mac)… Things are just like you said: and the . dot and _ are really there visible in the list when looking the files in camera… and they are in beginning as afull list when scrolling the list down there are the real ones that can be uploaded to vf.
Sometimes it is like this and the learning is slow… ha ha ha … the lists are different when watching them on computer and in camera. I just could not understand that.
I have downloaded your monitor 3D LUTS for the FS7 and followed what seems to be the procedure, but I seem to have had the same issue Pekka had except that I get No file found.
System: Cine EI
color space: S-Gamut3.Cine/SLog3
File: Monitor 3DLut
Load SD Card (1) (2) (3) (4)….I choose 1 and “No File Found”
SD card is PRIVATE – SONY – PRO – PMWF55_F5
The files have been unzipped and loaded as created (the files were downloaded from a pc)
If there is something I’m missing out of this process please clarify
You must load the LUT’s into the cameras internal LUT memories from the SD card before the camera can access them.
I have gone through the complete menu system (or I have thought I have) to see whether I have missed where to load them into the internal LUT memory. Can you please specify which menu item I should be loading the SD card?
Not sure if my other reply got to your blog, I have gone through the various menus that theoretically should allow me to load the SD card. The card is seen by the camera, but doesn’t recognize the files on the card and doesn’t allow me to upload into the camera. Not sure what I’m missing in the step, but I followed the same procedure Pekka did.
I am experiencing the same problem as Jeremy. The camera shows “no file” when I try loading the card to the camera. No problem with Scene files, but no go with LUTs.
Probably the folder structure. The LUT’s are good.
Does the camera name need to be PXW-FS7 or PMWF55_F5 when loading to the FS7?
The folder name is PMWF55_F5 for the FS7
Thanks for the LUTS.
Do believe I’d like to buy you that pint. Name a pub local to you!
I formatted the SD in the FS7 and tried again…success.
I seem to have had success when I changed the name of the LUT but I don’t know what the rules are for acceptable names. That is unless it was just luck that they loaded after 2 tries with different names.
Can you use these LUTs in FCPX with ColorFinale LUTs manager?
Yes you can.
Can you use these on the new FS5?
Hello, can I use these LUTs for sony A7s II slog3 footage as well?
yes, it works very well on A7S2 slog3 footage. I try to understand why it’s works so well. no noise, look good. Do you have created all of this luts with davinci resolve? if yes is it possible to see a master project? I am trying to understand the operations carried out to obtain this result. I am impressed by the quality of the image: no noise or very little and above all it shows the full potential of the slog. you can almost be wrong around 2 diaph. so nice job
Thanks man. Enjoy the drink!
Thanks for the LUTS. Enjoy your Latte.;) One word of advice for others. The last folder needs to be “PMWF55_F5” even though when you format and save a file in the F5, the last folder is default “PMWF5”, it needs to be changed to “PMWF55_F5” as last folder.
It’s better to create a new folder called PMWF55_F5 rather than rename the PMWF5 folder as this is used for other files.
Should i create the folder path in sd card or camera does itself? there is no folder or sub folders as you said.
