Are you sure this only affects Rec2020 material? I see issues with Sony FS5 files in general on Mac clients running Premiere Pro 2017.1.2. Red frames and MXFimporter errors all over the place. Scrubbing the timeline with FS5 clips eventually makes Premiere Pro freeze. This happens with NVIDIA GTX680 GPU in a Mac Pro 2010, running OS X 10.10.5. What hardware platform and OS version are you running?
It’s quite possible that 709 will trip up some systems. For now Sony have withdrawn the update, probably because of these issues and will be re-releasing a fixed version soon.
