Re: MTF services to produce Nikon adapter for F3

Are you using a matte box, or at least a hood?

Firmware version 1.2 has been released

Download here: http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/cat-broadcastcameras/resource.downloads.bbsccms-assets-show-highend-PMWF3Downloads.shtml EI = electronic indexing is only enabled when S-Log is running and Preset whites (from what I see they work with S-Log again) but the other upgrades apply even without...

Group buy for ProLock adapter for Sony F3

I spoke to Jacek (Optitek) about a group buy for the F3 ProLock. The ProLock is a PL style locking mechanism for Nikon lenses. Like other adapters it allows the use of Nikon glass. Unlike other adapters the lens is not twisted in. The lens flange will not get the wear and bending of the thin flange ...

SCCE (Large Single Sensor) shoot out goes live Oct 5...

Only three days away. A trailer is up now. (FYI: SCCE = singe chip camera evaluation, but I think "large single sensor camera shoot out" is more descriptive.) http://www.zacuto.com/the-great-camera-shootout-2011/episode-three Another real life comparison chapter is said to be in the works....

Re: XDCAM and crew in So Cal.

My name is Duke. Think John Wayne and you'll remember my name. :) I can shoot your project cinema style on the wonderful PMW-F3 with the S35 sensor. I have a Ki Pro Mini for 4.2.2 10 bit files for real cinematic results. I also have a suite of Nikon fast primes and Nikkor F2.8 zooms for consistent r...

Re: MTF services to produce Nikon adapter for F3

I have my MTF Nikon to F3 adapter. Great build quality, fits very snug. No play. It took a few minutes to figure out the way it works. However, I deliberately chose all my Nikon lenses to have manual aperture rings, so I only had to set the adapter for wide open and lock it down that way. But its ni...

Re: S-Log tests on PMW-F3

Two stops higher would be fantastic. The only problem is the cost of the S-Log update for indies that will probably never use a 4.4.4 recorder. Talk to your rep and see if they have any plans for S-Log with 4.2.2. At a thousand dollars they'd have much higher sales of that and still protect their hi...

NEX-FS100 - living up to expectations?

It has the same sensor as the F3, but...

No ND filters
No HD-SDI out
No DC power in making it hard to use IDX or Swit brick batteries

It does have 1080p at 60fps.
It does go up to 30db gain.
It does have very low noise images at almost all gain levels.
