Ha Ha! Done it! formatted an SxS card in the EX1R, copied the un-archived file to the root directory of the SxS card, connected the camera to a mains supply, selected "menu", "others", "version up" and pressed execute! About 20 mins later all done! Version 1.2 installed...

I have been wondering whether to update the firmware on my Ex1R (Presently Ver 1.1), but have heard of, and seen on the internet or various scarey stories of "bricking" ones EX1! But there seem little for owners of the EX1R! I think you can update via the SxS card and the camera menu, but ...
