Re: Glidecam stuff

The X-22 is the best low cost Glidecam. It's actually better than the Steadicam Flyer I found. The arm can hold more weight too, although it lacks the no-tools lift adjustment that is on the Steadicam series. This is my review of the X-22.

Matching PDW 700 and Canon 7D

Best way to match cameras is to bring the more capable camera down to the level of the less capable one. If you really did want to help the 7D along you could try the picture styles that are available from the same guys who make the digital praxis curves for the F900 etc. you need to pay a small fee...

PMW350 kit zoom lens jerks

Sounds a similar issue to the 1/2" EX camcorders. Could possibly be using some common parts hence the similar problem.

FS-100 as B Camera to F3: Broadcast

That just refers to the delivery format (which will vary from broadcaster to broadcaster) and not the original recording format. 50mb/s and above 8-bit should be acceptable by most depending on what exactly you are doing. You need to check with your broadcaster directly though. There's no point in a...

FS-100 as B Camera to F3: Broadcast

Why would the network reject 8 bit footage? Is 10-bit specified in their guidelines?

Back focus problems EX1R

Yes. I found the back focus procedure to be quite variable in the results that I achieved. You have to make sure that there is nothing else in the frame that the camera could accidentally focus on too. Strangely the only way I got a good result was with the back focus chart supplied with Doug Jensen...

blue fringing..

It's a long shot as it definitely sounds like either a lens or optics block issue. But have you tried going into the picture adjustment settings and methodically reducing the effect of each one in turn to a minimum to see if this has any effect?
