Re: Mac Mini for FCP

That will be fine, the new MacMini Server version supports twin drives and one of the options is for a 750 HDD and 250 SDD. I was just concerned the graphics card may be too slow for 1920x1080i and if a 2.0GHz Quad i7 would be up to it

Mac Mini for FCP

Has anyone tried using a Mac Mini for Final Cut Pro editing? I need to do 1920x1080 50i work for the main broadcasters. I am assuming the more powerful server version with the quad core would be better and I would upgrade the RAM to 8GB and probably have a 256GB SSD drive and a 750GB 7200 HDD. Would...

Re: Bolt On 50+ Mbps Recorders

Perhaps this should have been posted under the section 'Off Board Recorders' but as I have a PMW-350 my shortcut comes straight here!

Bolt On 50+ Mbps Recorders

I know about the Convergent Design Nanoflash but I thought it might be useful to generate a list of recorders available that can be bolted on to a PMW-350 type camera that will record at rates of 50 mbps or higher.....so that you can fulfil the recently released BBC criteria

Re: Using PMW-350 with SD output

Thank you for the reply and I am working on it. Unfortunately I do not have the option of post production on the sat truck.

Using PMW-350 with SD output

Hi all I am using my PMW-350 for both High Def (HD) and Standard Def PAL (SD) work and when doing SD work I often have the SDI video out plugged into a Link XP Digilink for live stuff with a sat truck. The output for the SDI BNC is set to SD&DV or SD&HDV, the quality appears to be the same. ...
