Re: monitor LUTs on Sony F5

Cube files do not work at this time. The only LUT's that can be imported are 1D LUT's created using the Parameters panel of Sony's Raw Viewer software. I think Cube support will come later.

OSX Mavericks and SxS driver not working on some MacBook Pro

There is a bug in the Apple ExpressCard driver specific to 10.9 (and 10.9.1) that prevents ExpressCards from initializing in the MBP 6,1. We have reported it to Apple and expect Apple to fix it in a future release. In the meantime, we have a patcher for you. Download the Qio System Installer here (r...

Re: List Price/Purchase Price of Sony F5

Resellers can eat into their margins, but the margins are not very big so you won't see large differences between resellers. What you might be able to do is get a deal on a camera with some accessories as there are bigger margins on the accessories. In Canada Sony have just started a bundle deal tha...

Re: Chromatic aberration on Brand New PMW300

That does look pretty bad. I'll have a PMW-300 on Monday. I'll take a look at that one and let you know how it is. Did you get the 14x or the 16x lens?

Re: NEED F3K ZOOM LENS

Any Nikon zoom will work with the correct adapter (MTF?). Or you can get a more expensive powered Canon adapter that will control the electronic iris and then use any Canon mount lens. If you use an electronic controller you will then get the benefit of image stabilisation where the lens has it. Zoo...

Re: film/cinema style picture profile on a F-350. Any ideas?

That's a big ask. Progressive will help, but really a huge part of the film look comes from the use of a large sensor with shallow depth of field. I would use Cinegamma 3, and reduce the detail level to -12, but the F350 is still going to look like a video camera.

Re: Updated FS700 bit depth

No there is no change to the HDSDI output, it is still 8 bit. The only way to record at a higher bit depth will be with the Convergent Design Odyssey 7Q either in raw which is 12 bit or by using the 7Q's ability to convert the 12 bit raw to a 10 bit compressed recording. This functionality should co...

Re: Picture Profiles from PMW200 working on new PMW300?.

Both cameras share the same sensors, but there is a difference in the DSP used, so there may be some very small differences. But any differences will be very minor and the profiles should basically work the same on either camera.

Re: Up-converting (XDCAM PDW-530) MPEG IMX to HD

Well it will never be as good as real 720p. When you shoot progressive with the 530 there is a bit of a resolution drop compared to interlace, which isn't going to help. It was never designed as a true progressive camera.
