Re: EF adapter for F3 with aperture control?

Thanks, Alister! The red zoom lens is rather heavy for run and gun use!

EF adapter for F3 with aperture control?

Alister, have you heard any more about an EF adapter for the F3 that will control aperture? Birger still doesn't have one, and I haven't come across any others. Perhaps you've heard something?

Blackmagic HyperDeck

Hello, everyone,

Just came across the Blackmagic Design Hyperdeck. Looks like a great deal, although with a few limitations. Any ideas how this one compares with CD's Gemini, Atomos Ninja, or the Aja Ki pro mini? So many decks, so many formats, so little money...

error msg using red zoom lens on F3

Hello, all! We hooked up a PL-mount Red zoom lens (18-85mm) to our F3, and we're getting an error message that won't turn off. "Abnormal Lens Communication Please Check Lens IF Setting" Don't see any place in the menus to change this, and haven't found this error message online or in the m...

1080p output to nanoFlash

Alister, we just got our FS-100, and it looks quite good! However, we weren't able to send 1080p or 720p to the nanoFlash through the HDMI port. The EX1 and 3 have a setting to turn on the 24P system, but the FS100 doesn't seem to have this setting. We came across the solution on Convergent Design's...

Re: PMW-F3 now on BBC approved list

Came across this interesting list of addenda to the BBC white paper 34: Colorimetric and Resolution Requirements of Cameras. Addendum 68 addresses settings for the F3: http://thebrownings.name/WHP034/ (this is a mirror site that seems to list the camera-specific addenda only) Addendum 30 addresses E...

Re: Stills lenses and the F3

Just called Birger Eng and was told the adapters are still a couple of months out. Has to do with being unable to get cameras and manuals, he said. But once they get the cameras it should be relatively quick to bring the adapters to market. Fingers crossed!

Raincoat for the F3?

Anyone have any recommendations for a raincoat for the F3 with prime lenses? I live in Vermont, a temperate rain forest! Any recommendations appreciated.

Alister, any update about the Birger EF adapter? I couldn't find any info about it on their web site. I've got the lenses ready...
