sony EX-3 Interval Recording

Post by manojpradhan » July 26th, 2011, 4:22 am

I would be shooting with Sony PMW EX-3. Could somebody tell me which is the best combination of Interval and Recording time in Timelapse shooting to get a smooth flow in this camera? thanks.

1 frame every 1 second will give the smoothest motion, but this is also the smallest amount of time compression. You can always speed things up further in post production, but if your shooting something that takes hours to happen you will probably want a longer interval. You might also want to consider using a slow shutter speed to add some motion blur which can be a pleasing effect with fast moving objects and time-lapse, but I suggest you do some trails first.

if you have an iPhone there is a great time-lapse calculator app. http://www.clamcamvideo.com/timelapse_calc.html
