Any suggestions for the best set-up to film a hockey game for post-game analysis? I am using a PMW-EX3 with it's kit lens. Should I shoot it at a higer frame rate (over crank it to 60fps?) Increase the shutter speed? If so to how much. I haven't seen the arena yet, but I assume it is fluorescent lights (US current). Any suggestions would be greratly appreciated.
Hockey being such a fast sport, shooting at 720/60P with the shutter at 1/120th might work well for you. You will have to watch out for phasing between the shutter and lighting which will appear as a dark band rolling down the image. 1/120th should be OK, but if you get any issues turn the shutter off.
Thank you Alister. Your experience and willingness to share it with us is greatly appreciated.
