PMW350 kit zoom lens jerks

I have used the fujinon zoom lens witch comes bundled with the PMW350K and recognized that the zoom servo often jerks, especially when starting the zoom drive but sometimes also in the midle of the shot. I have tested two other PMK350Ks and they behaved similar. Does anyone else have these problems? Is there a solution or is it just that the lens is very cheap compared to other hd lenses?

My lens has been fine up until now (1 month out of the 2year warranty!) the zoom has gone "sticky". It's fine on fast zooms - but quite noticeable on slow zooms. I'm trying to decide whether to get it repaired or upgrade to a better quality lens Canon KJ22 or something.

Sounds a similar issue to the 1/2" EX camcorders. Could possibly be using some common parts hence the similar problem.
