Hello friends.
I'm highly interested in the metadata captured on disc in the pdw-700.
I'm just starting to get to know the technology.
now my question:
where is the metadata actually stored? in the mxf-file? or is there an additional metadata somewhere on the disc?

And: is the complete metadata copied when using a PDW-U1?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not exactly sure where the metadata is stored, some is in the MXF file, but not sure if it is all in the MXF.

As for what gets copied into the editor, well that depends on the software. Avid has probably the best metadata handling and it copies most of the different fields over. FCP is pretty poor. It doesn't matter which XDCAM HD422 drive you use, they can all read all the metadata, assuming you are running the latest firmware versions, the limitations are normally in the NLE software.
