The Sony PDW 350 records with 23 GB discs. Can it record with the 50 GB discs? A colleague of mine put in a 50GB disc in his PDW 350 and it came up with an error code.

No, the PDW-F350 cannot record on to 50Gb discs. The PDW-700, F800, F335, F355 can.
