SD-SDI issue

Hi guys,

Anyone tried to connect your SD-SDI out from a PDW-700, PDW-F800 or 680 to a (blackmagic) converter, or solid state recorder?

When i connect my PDW-F800 to a converter, feed point, SNG or so, i have serious problems. Sound is complete distorted. When i take the HD-SDI output all is fine...

Using my old PDW-530, all is great.

There is something serious wrong with that SD-SDI output. Is there a solution, or an explanation about this? I am not the only one. And Sony? Does not give a proper answer.

NB SD-SDI Connecting to a monitor works fine.

When i connect the PDW-F800 SD-SDI to for example a Sony R1 (SD xdcam recorder) all is fine, the recorder output to the converter solves the problem. Looks like the SDI signal is remade or so by the recorder. But carrying the recorder with me all time is no option.

Hi Struijs, it seems like Sony have done something to avoid us to use the sd signal from sdi which is insane and pisses me off!!! I use my PMW350 to record HD in camera SXS and record sd on nanoflash from sdi signal and i wanted to do same thing on my PDW700 to discover that there is no way to do that with camera that costs more than twice the price of my 350 and 6 times the price of an EX1R!!
What the hell is the sense of this decision!? why do they crept the sd signal output to other devices!?
