shutterspeed at different framerates

Hi,
can anybody explain which shutterspeed should be used when choosing a 36fps frame rate on the F55? In the menu the options are 48-60-90 and 120. I'm shooting a 24fps project and need to crank the camera at different speeds. I can also change the shutter speeds with the option steps or continuous, but I wonder if I should chose the double amount in shutter speed related to the frame rate. (so that would make 72 shutter with 36 frames).
