Anyone got any thoughts?
I have a Pmw-500 and was recently editing using a friends Mac with the latest FCP. The mac is relatively new, it's a tower with a dual core 3.2ghz processor and 12gb (yes) of memory.
I've shot on both SD and HD and when I transfer the footage to fcp via the usb2.0 on the camera it's incredibly slow - about 1 tenth of normal speed.
It's not the camera - i've done exactly the same thing with another mac and the footage goes in quickly. It's not the computer - it's very fast and it's not the software - we're using the latest transfer software and the latest FCP.
What am i doing wrong?

Sounds very strange. Are there any USB 1 devices connected to the tower, that can slow down the USB bus.
