DAVINCI RESOLVE ACES WORKFLOW FOR SONY 4K RAW FOOTAGE

Post by globalhd » April 6th, 2014, 4:42 pm

Hello Alister & friends.

I hope this finds you well.

Help a novice won't you..

I'm hoping to develop the most efficient and effective complete ACES workflow possible for a series of interviews that I'll be producing in 4K RAW with my Sony F55's and DaVinci Resolve 10 on a Mac. I plan to shoot 4K RAW and MPEG proxy simultaneously - edit the proxy in Final Cut Pro and export the EDL to Resolve.

Easy enough.

From there the Davinci ACES setup is conceptual for me.

I understand this so far:

1. The 16-bit linear F55 RAW footage is "perfect" for ACES.
2. Within Resolve I can select ACES as my IDT.
3. I grade within the ACES "environment" then select whichever type of deliverable I wish to use within the RRT/ODT.

SEEMS EASY ENOUGH...

But which settings are best for inputting the Sony 4K RAW?
And which setting for outputting to broadcast television and iPads?

(I may be overthinking this). Screenshots would help tremendously!

Thanks for your consideration! Along with posting to the Sony F55 Forum I think I might have a good chance of getting this right.

Any insights would help.

BEST REGARDS!
