It's on v1.31. You'll find it under the Resources tab for the PMW 400 in the XDCam section on the Sony Professional website. You do have to sign up first. I remember a link also being posted on LinkedIn as well. So a Google search with the right firmware update info may also be successful.

Following up on this, I now understand that some 500 's are having the CCD gain adjusted to correct white balance values.
Obviously this would have to be done by an engineer, etc but could help you.

That's interesting that you're finding this as I tend to find the opposite!

Compared to my old DVCam camera, the 500's reading are higher. At 5-5600, the 500 would roughly be 6-6500, for example.

Are you're readings down to a setting that you may not be aware of on the camera??

Which camera are you using? I'm presuming the two mic receivers were plugged into the camera via the 2 XLR connectors? Did you change the microphone settings on channel 2 from the front (top mic) to rear (ie XLR connector) and from auto to manual? Also, be careful not to knock the little switch just...

I know what you mean. I've seen pictures of some top mics that are so long they extend past the lens. The one I think I'm going for is the short top mic - about 5 inches long.
