Camera has returned from Sony. They said that this was a 'known issue' - they reflashed the camera & reinstalled the firmware (whatever that really means) and all is now good. Local dealer installed version 1.3 (up from 1.1) but made no difference to the SDI out or error code.
Camera has now been sent to Sony Australia for them to look at.

Has anyone else had this error code come up? is it an easy fix?
