I copied some of the settings from here, I like the look of both the files, one has REALLY crushed blacks which I reckon would suit docco work.
I popped in our BBC settings and then changed the bits suggested on here and saved it as a new file
Only used these on 35mbps though

I've been keeping an eye on this.. The lenses on our 500's are the Canon HJ 14x4.3 all singing HD jobbers.. each lens has has its flare file set up and stored in the camera memory. god only knows what it does..I suspect it might be something to do with the kit lens you can get. Won't even light up the assign switch on mine!

when you talk about the red line focus thing, are you talking about the VF peaking which can be set to be one of 4 colours..?

what VF you got?
works on our colour ones, we have it on assign 0.
I'm assuming you are talking about the digital expansion of the picture in the vf rather than some auto focus the lens does...

don't quite understand what you mean Robin.. Is it outputting HD SDI that you can see on the monitor? As I remember the settings are SD/DV HD/HDV and one other.. not got camera to hand...! If it is outputting HD you can see surely its a monitor problem/setup for the other settings? If your stuck rem...

you know the 12v socket on the back.. the 4 pin one

oops,You are allowed one battery to be attached to the camera.. plus 2 more.. so sorry .. you can carry another one with you
flown to the States twice in 6 months with 3 Li batts in bag and one on camera and wasn't stopped!
