A7s picture profiles - Detail settings
Not sure where the A7s goes in these forum boards, but.... I could use some more info about how to set the Detail circuit in the A7s picture profiles. The reason is that I'm noticing significant softening of the image on a pan, even a slow pan, more than I've seen with the F3, for instance, and the ...

Re: Where is the backfocus screw or button?
Thanks, Alister! We're using the MTF EF (EOS) adapter, as I said before, and on the F3 I needed to drastically change the back focus. But, it turns out that on the FS100, the MTF adapter requires no backfocus adjustment! The focus appears to stay true throughout the zoom range. Hooray! By the way, d...

Re: Where is the backfocus screw or button?
I should add that someone mentioned that the FS100 might backfocus automatically, but again, no evidence of this in the manual....

ProRes vs XDCAM for S-Log?
We recently shot a show using two F3s with S-log. One was recorded to a Samurai in ProRes HQ, the other to a NanoFlash in XDCAM format. I might be mistaken, but the XDCAM footage seemed to have better color than the ProRes. Doesn't really make sense to me, but we can't explain it any other way. (Alt...

HDMI 8-bit or 10-bit?
I have read that the FS100 outputs 8 bit through its HDMI port, although I haven't found this in the manual. If that's true, is there any benefit to recording to a 10-bit recorder such as the Ninja? Or would the 8-bit NanoFlash do just as good a job?

Where is the backfocus screw or button?
We recently purchased the MTF EF adapter for the FS100, and while setting it up I realized I probably needed to set the backfocus or focal flange length. However, I can't seem to find it in the manual or any of the menus. On the F3 it was a simple screw. Otherwise, not sure how useful such an adapte...

Re: EF adapter for F3 with aperture control?
Hello, Alister, I noticed on the B&H site that MTF have listed a new Canon EF adaptor for the PMW-F3. No details or specs, and nothing on the MTF site about it. Do you know whether it controls the electronic aperture? I see a little tab on it, but don't know what that's for. Here's the link: htt...
