Alister,
Any suggestions on using the 18mm? I have both the 35mm and the 18mm (Zeiss CP.2). For obvious reasons (T stop and speed) - the 18mm just seems a bit clunky... and noisy. That being said, I'm unsure if there is any correlation between noise level and speed of the lens.
Do you have any suggestions on set up when using a wide like the 18mm with the F3?

The lens itself won't add noise, but as it not as fast as most of the other CP2's so you will have greater DoF and maybe more gain which can give the impression of more noise. Very wide lenses often look soft as you'll have more distortions and more flare. Flare can reduce contrast which will make the picture look softer. So make sure you use a good matte box or sunshade, maybe some flags to reduce stray light as much as possible.
