Hello.
Can you help to make right choice with lens that would take all advantages of pmw-500 camcoder for a reasonable price.
We are in process of buying and have no chance to test different lens because we don't have camcoder. The budget is around 10-15$ euro
We look on:
- Fujinon ZA17x7.6BERM-M - cheapest lens
- Fujinon HA16x6.3BERM
- Canon lens HDGC KJ17ex7.7 IRSE 17x
Or maybe you can advise any other lenses? And is there such difference between them in picture quality as in price?
Thank you!

Re: lens for PMW-500
The only one of those three lenses that I have direct experience of is the Canon KJ17 which is becoming a bit of a standard for HD ENG lenses. It's a good workhorse lens with good performance. I know of others that use the ZA17.7.6 and have heard good things about this budget HD lens. The HA16x6.3 is from Fujinon's mid range lens selection so in theory it should be better than the ZA, but whether your or your customers would ever see the difference is another matter.
Your best bet is to find a dealer that will let you try them side by side. Even then the differences will still only be small.

Thank you, Alister! I think we will try Canon KJ17. I have heard on some video that Fujinon ZA17 have breathe effect while you work with focus.

They all breathe. The HA16 breathes the least from what I've heard.
