Not a big deal.. but found 50i 422 HD SXS 32GB type 1 cards.. down loads a fair bit longer than 25p.. 25p around 17 mins and 50i around 27 mins.. exp card slot..to USB 2 ext HDD.. (yes I know thats the slow bit) using XDCAM Browser V2

Is that because there is more data.. in interlaced than progressive ?

Would firewire make a big difference..?

wish they would hurry up with thunderbolt small ext HDD,s..

Thanks

25P and 50i should be almost identical file sizes. A faster card reader like the sonnet Echo Express via thunderbolt makes a massive difference. http://www.xdcam-user.com/2012/04/sonne ... eed-tests/

Ok thanks.. I was using the internal exp card slot of a 17inch mac.. but to a USB 2 ext HDD.. provided by the production.. maybe its the firewire and a faster HDD that was giving me the faster down loads before.. with 25p.. would the sonnet be faster than the internal exp card slot?.. waiting for the dream combo.. internal slot to thunderbolt ext HDD.. !!

The Express card slot built in to the computer is fastest, when the computer has one. USB 2 is a lot slower than firewire. Firewire 800 is typically about 3 times faster than USB 2 for video transfers.
