detail settings

Hi Alister

In your blog you say that you set a bit of added detail for your usual set up.. but then the setting number is given as -14.. I thought + would be adding detail not minus..? confused.

Where does it say I add detail, perhaps there is a typo? I don't, I maybe add negative detail or reduce detail, but almost never add detail. You are correct the + is adding and - reducing.

Sorry read it again.. -14.. I must have been half asleep.. The Beeb setting for the 500 is detail -5.. Aperture +25.. and frequency +99.. but I see that you say that high frequency can result in jittery ness and not a good idea ?

I think I prefer a slightly softer look to the BBC who are primarily using the camera for news. I found some issues on finely details shiny objects with frequency at +99. You probably OK up to about +60.
