Have a shoot coming up next week and the client is requesting XAVC S-Log3 and I am planning on recording internally onto SxS-Pro+ cards. I am pretty sure the last firmware update enabled recording standard HD (proxy) on the same card, but have not tried yet. Just testing the waters. The client also requested transcoding through my newly installed Catalyst Prepare the XAVC files to DnX-HD for editing on Avid. We will discuss options in the next few days and wasn't sure if recording RAW instead on the R5 would be a better option.

Raw is better than S-Log3, but the files will be larger. But recording raw opens up more options as to which codec you can use in the camera. So you could use Meg2 (XDCAM HD) which is an Avid native codec for the edit and then use the raw for the grade.
