FX9 - what does EI do to exposure in 1080p with Gamma Assist on

Hi...I'm a new owner and have a couple of shooting questions that I can't obviously find the answer so I'm falling at the mercy of you helpful people!

1 - In Cine EI mode, shooting HD 1080p and therefore using Gamma Display Assist rather than the MLUT, does changing the EI make any difference at all? I know it doesn't affect the viewfinder but it also doesn't seem to change the exposure readings in my slog3 waveform at all. For example, shooting at low base and then bumping EI from 800 to 1600 EI doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever to the exposure. Is that right? Am I just restricted to low/high and then Iris, ND, lighting to affect exposure?

2 - Again re waveform, if Slog3 clips at 100, for some reason if I'm testing this with waveform, when shooting Cine EI, I can't seem to overexpose it beyond 100 to bring it down again. It just seems to stop at 100 (is that maybe because I have a menu setting?). I think with the Fs7 I used to find it helpful to see when it had gone over and then pull it down again.

Sorry, probably quite silly questions but can't quite seem to figure either out. Thanks in advance. Jamie

Take a look at this video to understand how CineEI works https://pro.sony/en_GR/filmmaking/filmm ... os-cine-ei

VF Gamma assist doesn't change in CineEI because it is not a LUT and S-Log3's maximum recording level is 94%
