Flickering Pictures
Some users experience pictures that flicker when they use the shutter. This can occur under any lighting conditions. the most common cause appears to be the "flicker reduce" function in the camera menu. The default is "Auto". I recommend you turn this off. It's supposed to help reduce flicker when you are shooting in countries that have a different mains frequency to the cameras frame rate, for example shooting at 30P or 60i in Europe where the mains is 50hz.

Re: Flickering Pictures
Hi Alister
I have noticed this when using a top light.
I have a z96 whenever i have it one full, i have horrible flicker horizontal lines.
I down the shutter to 1/33.
Is it best to turn the shutter off? How can i combat this?
Thanks
Ollie

Re: Flickering Pictures
Check that you have flicker reduce set to off. Otherwise it sounds like the frequency of the z96 is too low for the camera. I don't know this lamp so can't really comment. Does changing the dimmer setting alter the banding, I suspect it will. I would certainly never shoot with a shutter faster than 1/60th for this kind of light.

Yes, flicker is off.
Yes when gets brighter more banding, more in low light i get this.
Hmmm, i will do a few test with it

G Pictures forms a parrot. G Pictures tails a tangent card within the collect recipient. A punch disturbs g Pictures. G Pictures ducks into Flickerin.
